How do search engines work?
Search engines have three main functions:
Crawl: Search the web for content and browse the content and code found in each URL.
Index: The storage and classification of content found during the monitoring phase. By placing a page in the index, that page will have a chance to appear in search results.
Rank: Provide a list of relevant and relevant content by searching for a phrase. Search results are ranked according to the most relevant criteria.

As you have learned so far, monitoring and indexing site pages is a prerequisite for being seen in search results. If you already have a website, it is best to check the number of pages indexed. This will give you a good initial view of the site pages.
One way to check the site index is to use the site operator: site: domain.com. Do a Google search for site: domain.com and enter your domain name instead of domain.com. By doing this, you will find out the number of indexed pages of the site in Google.

The number of pages that Google shows in such a situation is not very accurate, but you can get a basic idea of the pages indexed and how they are displayed in search results.
To get the exact result in this case, you should check the Coverage section in Google Search Console. Having an account in Google Search Console is free and you can register by referring to the address of this tool. Using this tool, you can register your sitemap (list of web page URLs) in it and see the number of pages in the Google index from this list. Of course, the functions of this tool do not end there.
